WHAT IS RCOA?
Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) allows End-Users with power consumption in excess of 100kW (referred to as “Contestable Customers”) to switch from their current power supplier, usually the distribution utility, and choose different supplier.
Through a licensed Retail Electricity Supplier, Contestable Customers have the freedom of selecting from which RES they can acquire their electricity supply to realize savings on their electricity costs

APSC RES FAQS
Retail electricity, explained simply.
A RES is a licensed company that can sell electricity directly to qualified businesses, instead of you buying only from your local distribution utility. Alsons Power is a licensed RES.
RCOA is the ERC program that lets qualified consumers choose their own electricity supplier instead of only buying from their local distribution utility.
A Contestable Customer is a business whose average monthly peak demand exceeds the ERC threshold (currently >100 kW), making it eligible to choose its own retail electricity supplier.
GEOP lets qualified consumers source a portion of their electricity from renewable energy facilities. Ask us about pairing your supply with our renewable energy option.
RAP lets businesses with several smaller sites combine their demand to meet the contestability threshold and qualify for retail electricity supply.
