APSC RES, the retail electricity supply arm of Alsons Power, has signed its first supply agreement with an electric cooperative in Region XII under the Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) framework, extending its customer base beyond individual commercial and industrial accounts.
The agreement allows the cooperative's contestable members to source power through APSC RES's competitively priced supply contracts, backed by Alsons Power's own generation portfolio rather than purely spot-market purchases.
"Cooperatives sit at the center of a lot of local economic activity outside Metro Manila. Bringing one on as a retail customer is a good signal that RCOA is working the way it was designed to, for institutions as much as for individual factories," said APSC RES's business development head.
