Alsons Power has launched an environmental education program in partnership with public schools in Maasim and Alabel, bringing hands-on lessons on watershed protection, waste segregation, and renewable energy into science classrooms.
The program includes a field component where students visit the company's Siguil Hydro facility to see run-of-river hydro generation firsthand, pairing classroom material with a working example in their own municipality.
"Kids in these towns are growing up next to a power plant. We'd rather they understand what it does and why the river matters than just see it as a fence they can't cross," said a company community relations officer.
