Sarangani Energy Corporation (SEC) has fully restored Unit 1 to commercial operation, completing the plant's recovery from the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Mindanao earlier in the month and bringing SEC's full 210 MW capacity back online.
Unit 1 required a more extensive inspection than Unit 2 after seismic monitoring flagged minor misalignment in auxiliary piping. Repairs were completed ahead of schedule, and the unit passed all safety and performance checks before being cleared to synchronize with the grid on June 11.
With both units back online, SEC resumes its role as one of Mindanao's largest baseload power sources, supporting grid stability across Region XII as the island continues its post-earthquake recovery.
