Sarangani Energy Corporation has achieved ISO 14001 certification for its environmental management system, following an external audit covering emissions management, waste handling, and spill prevention protocols at the plant.
The certification formalizes practices the plant has followed for years and subjects them to independent, recurring third-party audits going forward, rather than internal review alone.
"Certification doesn't change what we do day to day, it changes who's checking our work. That external check is what makes it mean something," said SEC's environmental, health, and safety manager.
